Breathe. Also, smile, even if you don't want to. Just smiling will make yourself feel better. Make sure you do everything slowly and deliberately, like look left completely, then look right completely, then left again. Be overcareful and you'll be ok. If you know the area you'll be driving in, get a feel for it ahead of time. You're not allowed to practice specifically on the route you'll be taking (if you know it), but drive around the town and see how traffic is and how they respond to other drivers.
The evaluators will usually fail a driver for running a stop sign, running a red light, speeding, major things like that, not for things like parking 8 inches from the curb instead of the 6 inches.
On my test, i was supposed to make a three point turn on a quiet street, so i pulled to the side, put my blinker on, looked in the rearview mirror, saw a school bus, so i waited. and waited. and waited as it made about 4 stops behind me along the road, which was incredibly awkward, but my evaluator told me it was better to be safe than to rush it.

Be prepared before even driving to show the instructor the "hand" signals. Make sure to stop completely at a stop sign and don't forget when your driving through an intersection, slightly glance in both directions. They score you on that too. Didn't know that til my test was over.
You are getting a lot advice so I'll stop there.
Good luck!

The moment that you get into the car, imagine that you are on the road! I made this mistake of not looking over my shoulder to check for "oncoming traffic" even though I was in the testing area where I was the only car--and I lost a point immediately.
Also, here's a naughty trick: lower your right side view mirror so that it shows your right rear tire. That way when you are parallel parking you can make SURE that you won't hit the curb!
Good luck!!!

good luck and hope it goes well, I can't do anything like that the nervousness I really would not be able to handle but its the best thing anyone can have just think of all that freedom to go where you want. maybe one day I will get over my fear of failing and do the test. hope it goes well and congratulations on getting this far I am sure you will do fine. remember you have come this far and no matter what that is an achievement in its self.

In my driving test... started out with locating certain parts of the auto... like.. brake... gas pedal... speedometer, power window buttons if any... emergency brake... etc... also.. for the extra points... remember the turn hand signals... not the lever you push up for right or down for left lol but the one where you actually have to use your hand to indicate what direction you are turning. skipped that part... and he asked me to show him... i used common sense... but most people forget them... ummm on the actually drive... go the exact speed limit... or just alittle bit under... no radio or cd's... if you don't drive with both hands on the wheel atleast do it for this test. goes by quick my friend. have fun, and please man... be a safe driver!

THE BEST thing to do is to practice before you even attempt the test.
Why not ask to go on a prerun first.
You can do it in australia.
JUST forget that the tester is there and drive carefully.

So do I, so I know what you are going through. The best thing to do is to not worry so much about it. Since you passed the permit test, you already know what you should do on the road, so you should be fine. :)

Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.
OH Yeah, I failed my first test by not asking the tester to put on his seat belt?

Yes, try not to hit anything. Make sure you come to a COMPLETE stop at stop signs.
