as in massage here..is what I am referring to! I just watched youtubers filming the "spanking of kitties!" One of the cats liked it so much that everytime the massage therapist stopped..the cat would try to massage the therapist! LOL!
It was rather interesting,..but, I wonder..wouldn't it be kind of hard on a cats body or bones?(they massaged or "spanked" the back end of the cats that I would see on youtube.com)
Anybody with a cat..or a animal vet..please help!

I watched a couple of those videos and it seems OK...except cats have a VERY high tolerance for pain. Therefore they could have internal injuries and not even show signs that they are hurt. If you try this I would be cautious as to how hard the cat is being "massaged" and how often. Also, talk to your vet about the pros and cons of doing it.

Oh I saw that over there! It's hilarious and it wasn't done hard to hurt, it was a massage thing.
Some cats love this, others don't care for it. I think it felt good to the cat and he wanted it to continue since he kept coming back for more. Try 'drumming' with open palms on your leg-this is the feel that the cat got from the spanking. It was light, and rhythmical--he really was enjoying it (as was the Calico cat that someone did the same thing to over at the humane society in the other video).

I think what you are referring to is a kitty massage and not hitting the cat out of anger...I give my cat massages and he loves it. I don't see how it could hurt the cat at all, I wouldn't do it hard enough to give him pain! I just rub his paws, neck, spine and usually he rolls over so I can rub his belly...He purrs and begs for more! He would defiantly let me know if he didn't like something!!
If I'm trying to correct my cat (like if he is chewing a plant) I use a tone he knows- and I do what my parent's did to me...use middle names! He knows when he's done something wrong. If he goes back and tries to do the same thing again (which he sometimes does like he'll go back and chew the plant again) then I mist him with a water bottle. Then he knows he has crossed the line and will stop.
That's my method...hope that helps you.

lol i havent heard of cats liking to be spanked, but it wont be kind of hard on a cats body or bones if you spank them lightly
and i think you sholdn't do what they did in that film it was probably just made for entertainment.

Never spanked my cat but she loves to be scatched & will stand there forever or until my arm gives out. LOL

i have 3 cats and never spank them.. i have never heard of massage spanking unless it involves human

OK you just don't spank your cats/kittens for nothing there like kids they have to know what they did wrong first. My cat when it was younger us to go to the bathroom in my room I would first grab it by the neck and rub his nose in it, then I would spank him lightly on the behind and tell him firmly "No, Bad kitty,or You know better". After that I would show him where the litter box was and after doing this only two times more he got the ideal and never went in my room again but to the litter box instead!
So spanking cats isn't wrong it's just one way to teach them. If you don't like doing that you can always get a spray bottle and squirt them with water. But don't do these things unless your cat is absolutely doing something wrong.

I don't think "spanking" a cat is right. They don't "understand" what they did was wrong. I think it's cruel.
