Get a quart of Apple Cider vinegar (it's extremely inexpensive!) and with every meal add 1 tablespoon to a tall glass of water and drink it with your meal.
Not only does it keep your mouth clean, it prevents reflux and indigestion.

You can give up all carbohydrates, ALL, including that in your toothpaste, avoid kissing, eating or drinking behind anyone not on your regimen for a period of 6-8 weeks. Then avoid kissing, eating, or drinking behind anyone not on that regimen for the rest of your life. (Kills the plaque bug which is easily colonized again.) Or you can brush regularly, including your tongue. Avoiding sugary substances will keep it to a minimum.
