My friend has some belly fat and she was wondering what is a quick and healthy way to tone up at home. She doesn't want to join a gym or take any pills. But she just has a little fat around her middle that needs to be turned to muscle. Thanks my friend will really appreiciate your help!

you cant turn fat into muscle because those are two different tissues. you can get rid of belly fat by doing cardio which is the only fat burning exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (preferably 45min) - running, jogging, hiking, cycling, swimming, rope jumping etc.
we cant spot reduce body fat so it just has to be overall fat loss - lowering body fat percentage.
sit ups and crunches wont help because all they do is build muscle not burn fat and will make it look bigger because there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat.

First, tell your friend that there is no quick AND healthy way to lose belly fat. You cannot target a part of your body for fat reduction. You can only reduce your calorie intake while increasing your calorie burning through exercise, and then your body will "burn" fat from wherever it finds it. Tell your friend to make a lifestyle change that she can stick with, and to not get on a diet that will simply add the weight back on when she gets off of it. There are some really simple things that will help her right off the bat, like eliminating all soft drinks, all candy and all fast food and junk food. If she's physically able, she can do fast walking or jogging 3 or 4 days a week as well. Also, and this is a tough one, do not eat anything past 6 or 7pm (your last meal of the day). Unless she has hormonal or glandular issues, the weight will start to come off and she'll feel like a million bucks!
