My old pastor went to somewhere in Latin America to do a Crusade. He met a man that had had terminal cancer. My pastor asked the man how he became healed, and well, free of cancer. The ex-cancer patient said,"I gave all my $10 Million away."

There may not BE a balance, because of what the Word says, in

Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon

Material gain by legal way and part of it spent for benefit of humanity will become a spiritual bliss and it will enlighten ur heart. Thankfullness to God after getting material gain is more better than being and thankfull person in poverty.

I don't think it's bad to do things to keep yourself comfortable during life. You will rest easier if you know that you have used a portion of your gains to help others, or to support your church. We should not live lavishly, but have just what we need. God will provide.

I believe that if you live within your means, share what you can, The Lord seems to help. So if you have lots, share lots. If you have little share lots. God seems to give me what I need when I need it. And that keeps me balanced.

There is no difference there, or anywhere. Just be. Be the best "you" that you know how. Ultimately, (at the core) everything is "spiritual".
