Well, not a "premonition", but you could say that "the writing was on the wall" and that eventually something like that would happen, and it probably will again.

I am currently reading The Cell by John Miller, Michael Stone, and Chris Mitchel and you just come to the conclusion that there were a LOT of people asleep at the switch and that there were a whole lot of F ups.

Not about 9/11 however, I did about the Piper Alpha.

The Piper Alpha was a North Sea oil production platform operated by Occidental Petroleum (Caledonia) Ltd. It accounted for around ten per cent of the oil and gas production from the North Sea at the time. The platform began production in 1976 first as an oil platform and then later converted to gas production. An explosion and resulting fire destroyed it on July 6, 1988, killing 167 men.

Working myself at Sullom Voe Oil terminal at the time I was sat at my desk a week before this awful tragedy. I saw this platform and the fire unfold before me. With it's green Accommodation blocks on fire which eventually became twisted metal struts ...this was the one and only discrepancy in my story Well so I thought as the accommodation blocks turned out to be painted yellow on that fateful night...However a colleague of mine after I had told him the story later brought photos showing the Piper Alpha having had green accommodation a year or so before the accident (he had worked in this rig before being transferred to Sullom Voe OIL Terminal in Shetland).

I have never been able to explain my vision into what became reality a week after my premonition.

I understand how you must have felt about 9/11 and also how helpless and bewildered it must have all seen seeing it all unforld infront of you and not understanding any of it.

I hoep you have got over this experience. Mine will always be in my mine for a long as I live.

The human mind is totally unexplicable.

Most premonitions that accurate are after the fact. My dad many times tried to convince me that his dreams were true but always they were after the fact.

One example is my sister's youngest son accidently shot himself and died in 1995 just a month before his 21 birthday. No one expected any of this and I remember my dad saying at my sister's house the day of the funeral, that God usually gives him dreams and visions concerning things like this but this was total shock because he had recieved no dreams.

However 6 months after the funeral, my dad was trying to convince me he was special and God gave him dreams and he said that God had warned him in a dream that his grandson was going to die, but he did not understand the dream. He claimed that about a month after the funeral, he remembered a dream he had a couple of days before my nephew died, that he and all of us were at my sister's house and all of us were crying, but he did not know why in the dream, he also said that in the dream he noticed my nephew was the only missing.

First of all true dreams do not come to our attention a month after the fact, second is according to the bible God does not work that way, according to the bible, if a dream is from God the dreamer is aware of it and can warn of or change events. Or at the very least my dad would not have been taken by surprise.

If my dad had said the day of the funeral, that he had a dream about everyone crying and that my nephew was not there, then I might have believed his dream, not that it was from God, but because we all dream dreams that come true from time to time.

Yeah, I had a weird feeling at the start of the year. I was living in Oklahoma with my then-boyfriend, and I started to feel like I just needed to be at home with my family. The feeling got worse and worse as the year progressed. In May, I told my boyfriend that I was moving back home as soon as possible, and that if I had to go alone, so be it.

Even after I got home in July, my feeling only got worse. I told some friends that I was having a bad feeling, and I was having nightmares every night. Each morning, I woke up feeling...well, it's hard to explain. Unlike other nightmares of mine that faded within hours, the feeling I'd had in THESE dreams stuck with me all day. I'd wake up with fresh tears on my face and my heart pounding. The dreams weren't specific; I didn't know when, or where, or how, or who. I just knew it was going to be bad.

By the time 9/11 happened, I was nearly in a panic. No one believed me, even though I'd had experiences with these things before. But I just KNEW. The night of September 10th, I couldn't sleep. Every time I did, I was plagued by more nightmares. I fell into an uneasy sleep for about three hours, before being awakened by my boyfriend with the news of what had happened.

And then the pieces fell into place. The months of nightmares, of uneasy feelings, EVERYTHING, made sense. I felt terrible...and I still do. I wish I'd examined what I knew more closely, but as you can see, people don't take these things seriously. They don't believe that a person can have premonitions.

However, a couple of my best friends remembered me talking about the feeling I'd been having. One of them said to me when I talked to him that day: "You KNEW, didn't you, that something was going to happen? I remember you talking about it all year..."

It gave the impression of it could have been a super horned owl from the size description. i don't be responsive to why I felt slightly extra strongly to maintain watch and it basically appeared slightly unusual. i myself often look to adventure episodes of deja vu from seeing something that i've got dreamt.
