I DESPISE Montoya! He is 100 times too aggressive for a rookie! As an avid Jimmie Johnson fan, I guess I can't talk; Jimmie can be a bit aggressive as well. However, drivers like Jimmie and Dale, Jr. know how to show some respect! What do y'all think of Montoya?

Hes a talented driver whether you like him or not you have to admit that, im not a Montoya fan but he is talented but i don't see him winning on an oval track at least not any time soon although he has won in ever type of racing his been in so far (CART, F1, & now NASCAR), but he lucked out winning in Sonoma.

I agree he is a aggressive driver but no more than Tony Stewart or Dale Sr was if hes faster than you & you wont get out of his way he'll get you out of his way, i like drivers like that

GO JR!!!!!

I dont despise Montoya. I dont like him though. He is arrogant and aggressive on the track when there is no need. I also think he needs a lot more experience in cup races. Some of his problem is arrogance and some is lack of experience in this type of car. However you look at it he is currently not going anywhere but straight towards the HATED list. Eventually the other drivers are gonna get mad enough to wreck him. The fans are already mad enough to post bad thngs about JPM. If he could learn to be a bit less arrogant and learn to drive instead of wrecking others he might be an ok driver.

Yes Gordon, Johnson, the Intimidator, and many other drivers have been known for aggressive driving. The difference is they didn't have arrogance their rookie year. They didn't wreck people in the back half of the pack for position. They werent given a free pass to join the elite. They worked their butts off and worked their way up. And above all they had respect. Gordon may be whiney and Johnson may be his protege in whinerism. Earnhardt may have been perceived as a jerk and wreckless. But they all have had RESPECT towards other drivers. It wasn't uncommon to see Dale shake hands with a driver he wrecked after the race.

Montoya shows little respect. He has said many things in interviews that basically mean he is gonna wreck people and do whatever it takes to get him where he wants to be, he doesn't care, and isnt going to change.

particular, i spotted that poll. As disappointing because it replaced into to make certain Juan Pablo Montoya provide the race away, that's what he did. there are rather some people who purchase into the sufferer mentality/massive conspiracies. for this reason you notice this so often. i believe it would have been plenty extra suitable exposure for Nascar had JPM won. in spite of everything, he'd be the only driving force ever to win the two the Indy 500 and the Brickyard 4 hundred. He would have been historic for many reasons. yet another win by using Jimmie Johnson, on the different hand, generated little excitement in any respect.

Sounds like the same thing Tony Stewart was accused of in the past -- he's a Rookie to Nascar with some rough edges, but is a great driver. Respect will come with experience.

He reminds me of Ernie Ervin early in his career. Heck, the drivers had to read him the riot act. But I think Montoya is a heck of a talent and NASCAR is lucky to have him. The other drivers will get him to calm down a little bit, but he will always be agressive. If I'm the owner, I want my driver to be agressive. Dale Earnhart didn't win all those championships by being Mr. Niceguy on the track.

montoya could be a good driver if he would quit being so reckless
he dives the car wide open all the time not realizing that situations come up during the race that dictate how to drive
if he was in a straight line not passing anyone like f1 racing he would be ok but nascar is not f1 and cars run side by side and things happen that he cant handle yet in nascar he needs to calm down and learn his car and how to handle racing side by side or 3 wide and different aspects of the race and i dont believe he has the abilty to do that and until he does he will just keep wrecking till drivers just start moving him out of their way every week at the begining of the race

added later
to all you montoya fans who keep saying he did so well in f1 i asked a question on the f1 board they dont like him any more then most people here do they call him the crash bandit

Juan needs to go home. He is a terrible driver that can only wreck people if he does not get his way.. Yeah I know he's won a race... big deal.. How many times has he cost a good driver a chance at a win because of careless driving.

I think the good ol' boys should take him on a special hunting trip :). he will either never be seen again or have an ubelievably new outlook on life :). He is an arrogant fool and needs to chill out and earn his peers respect before he goes wrecking 1/2 the field each week. I was really dissappointed when he won the road course race, dont think he has earned a nextel win yet. Dirty drivers SUCK!!!!!

If his name was Dale Earnhardt Sr. no one would be saying a thing, they'd actually be cheering him on. JP has amazing talent, once he learns the physics and gets a better feel of a NASCAR he'll be real good. Driving a NASCAR is nothing like driving an F-1 car or an Indy car.

I don't despise him, but his on-track personality drives me crazy. He seems a bit full of himself for a rookie. I think he forgets all the open-wheel prowess means nothing on this circuit.
Ol' Smoke needs to set him straight. Now that's a fight I'd pay to see!!!!
