Ahh, I have the same problem!!!! Lower stomach is so hard to lose because that part of your abs is bigger then the rest (from what i've been told) so you have to work harder.

Here's has worked for me and I've gotten some nice results.

Reverse crunches normally work. Basically lift your legs using your lower abs (same way you would lift your upper body). If you go to the gym, they have these weight balls; just stick the 8lb one, or whatever u feel comfortable, between your thighs to hold the ball and lift. This adds weight and you'll feel the burn after a few reps.

Cardio is also key. You need to sweat, sweat, sweat! try jogging 2 miles a day, or hit the stairs. The stairs also help with your bum.

Stay consistent! don't stop this routine.

This is a really short answer; i can go on more but i'm on a timely schedule right now.. i'll get back to this later.

When you loose weight by dieting it does not come off necessarily in the targeted area first but generally all around.
You can however do sit ups that will tone up and tighten up the muscles in a targeted area such as your stomach, that will help your appearance. But contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as specific spot or body part reduction dieting.
That is why when people like Lindsay Lohan got skinny, many people said that she should have retained more weight in certain spots. It can't be done. It is more less all or nothing.
Don't worry though. Over all exercise and working out will pretty much shape you up to the desired effect and have you looking real good. Just keep away from the ice cream cones etc. It should not be necessary that you retain a big butt. Most men prefer women slim and trim.
Also try belly dancing lol; however it does work. Good Luck. Just don't change your name to "Little Egypt".

Cardio exercise is the best way to burn fat. Walk, swim, run, bike, play basketball, etc. and do toning, stretching and strengthening exercises. Do crunches and twisting exercises for your abs so that those muscles will be toned when you burn off the fat. Do squats, walk, run, and use the stairs for your butt! You want muscle back there, not fat, so exercise it and it won't disappear!
