is it true that the only way I HAVE to let my baby's father see our child is if there's already a visitation order? I don't want him any where near me or my home.

Legally, yes. If this is the way you feel, don't try to get child support, because the judge will order you to let him see your child. Good luck and best wishes.
BTW, in the state of GA, if you are unmarried the father has to "legitimize" the child before he even has rights to the child at all. Maybe your state is the same way. I'd ask a lawyer.

Ask your lawyer. This question is going to have different answers depending on where you are. If you are afraid of him then get a restraining order. Again, talk to a lawyer.

If that's the case, then a court order will work best.
