Why does my cat some times run around my place like some wild animal?

cats used to have to chase food so now that they are fed by us they have all this pent up energy that they have to let out... try playing with him for at least 15-20 minutes a day (active play, not holding and petting) and leaving some toys out for him or give him a play to climb... anything that gets him active will help cut down his 'spazzes'

It's called the midnight rips. They have pent up energy and do this occasionally, then lay down and go to sleep like nothing happened.
It's a cat thing.

you dont say how old your cat is...mine did that for ages as a kitten its a year old now and has somewhat calmed down...i loved that stage i thought it was funny. Hopefully he'll grow out of it like my cat did my cat is still crazy but i love it

lol.. they do go nuts once in a while! I had a big old fat neutered tomcat who used to tear around the house like the Tazmanian Devil. It was way funny 'cause his belly used to flop around like crazy when he did it.
