How do i change a file to ASCII format?

I have copied some text to deny a certain IP to my site, and im told i have to copy the text into notepad, and then upload it in ASCII format.
How do i do this?

Yeah, open the file within excel either thru the Data menu (inserting into existing worksheet) or opening the actual file as a new worksheet Text Import Wizard will open up under "Original Data type" choose Delimited click Next> Make sure Tab and Comma are the only ones checked and Text Qualifier is set to " The next step you can set your data type (number, text etc) once done click "Finish" and it's done Hope this helps
