the first time i knew i could make a difference..
i have this classmate in highschool that i all people make fun with(he is also my neighbor)
we're both the center of attention back at school
im famous for being the vice president of the student body
and he is infamous for his geeky antisocial behaviors.
Most students play prank jokes on him, till one day he didnt go school.
as a neighbor, i decided to give him a visit after being absent for 3 days;.
He seemed to have been glad to see me come over his house.
i encouraged him to go back to school despite the bullying he receives, and he did.
i dont know why, but it seems to me that im the only one that talked to him.
i kinda know he's smart but so unsure of himself that's why he failed some subjects before..
so every afternoon i talk to him even for a minute after school
and it became a habit everyday..
it didnt hurt my popularity, but did affect his...
he became a part of the crowd, slowly people has learned to accept him..
and gradually, i noticed him become more confident in himself...
the funny thing is at the end of the schoolyear, he actually became the valedictorian..
i end up being second, as a salutatorian, next to him

and in his valedictory speech, i was the last person he thanked to.
He told everybody with so much humility and grace....
"i wouldnt be here on the stage receiving this greatest honor if not for my dear friend, both literally and figuratively...
literally, coz when he decided to give me a visit, i was about to take my life out, thinking nobody cares for me at all.
He gave me a sense of self-meaning to be proud of..
and right now, figuratively... i felt like ive been born again...
i thank you for a new Life... you will always be the reason why i am here receving this Honor. it will always be an honor to be your friend.."

nothing has become my lifetime achievement, as i dont know lies ahead, and also i think more of my whole life as the main achievement, with individual events being featured
my most treasured moment so far was the day my daughter was born, but also i treasure the moments i spend with her each day, the smile or laugh, or just watching her mature to young adulthood

My Class V result said I stood first with 95.5 %. I studied in a very prestigious ICSE school. ICSE is the toughest syllabus.

April 1, 2006.

My class VIII result said I got 94% CBSE, but I came 5th in the class!


These two have a tie. I always did well in the ICSE school, but never got above 91%, so it is a great achievement. The change of syllabus from ICSE to CBSE made it hard for me. So my eighth grade result is also an equally big achievement as I had to struggle a lot.

I'm 14 years old (will turn 15 this October), and studying in tenth grade

in 1972 when I was in college and staying in hostel , I was also member of Food Committe which looked afte Hostel food ,kitchen , supply and bills.

I was doing Commerce . in second year . I noticed that monthly billing for food in othr hostel are lower than what we were paying,
and I gathered the data from that other hostel kitchen supplier. and compared with ours for a week. The prices charged by the our kitchen were higher by 10% to 50%.for vegetables per one Killogrammes , groceries and fruits

and this was due to the Food Monitor, who was chief of Food Committee. Food monitor had discontinued the contract system and appointed his own man for buy the veg, groceries daily basis. this gave loop hole to corruption.

The whole thing was brought to hostel warden and Commetee members and ultimately to the whole Hostel students , this led to the students agitation and unversity strike.. end result was that the Food monitor was removed and given legal notice to compensate for higher cost to the students for food .

The only motive behind this endevour was .. Each student comes with the money his parents have saved for his higher education ..should these money be eaten by the rots .. what is the truth...

this was my moment of satisfaction at the age of 17 years.
