If a person is in bankruptcy can they enter into a rent to own or lease purchase agreement on another property?

I say yes. You will not own the home until it is paid for. Right? As long as the deed is not in your name and the bankruptcy will be complete before the home is changed over to your name I say go for it.

Everything you own is placed in an estate which is managed by an appointed trustee and the trustee in the bankruptcy effectively becomes you until the bankruptcy is dismissed. You can not do anything without the trustee's permission.

Legally "NO" you cannot purchase another property while in bankruptcy, you'll void the legalities of the bankruptcy.
