What is your life like after that?

I think we all struggle with our religion from time to time. I don't think we just wake up one morning and it is lost. We agonize and wonder and wonder. I would imagine that it can be liberating though.
I sometimes for instance would like to know that there is no hell, since there is no guarantee that we will get there, but at times when I see the evil that some men do on earth, without punishment here, because of influence and power, then I say, "God, there has to be some payback."

Dramatic and liberating.

Liberating because you reject a God who is watching your deeds and is judging them. For those who have had the experience, it is like going off to college and getting away from parents. The first night is usually a drinking party. You get to make up the rules and then judge yourself by those rules. How liberated can you possibly be beyond that?

Life after that is a constant search for good times.

Letting go of all material possessions is the only thing that gave me a noticeable feeling. Denial of anything spiritual won't affect anything but ego and presents circular arguments.

Just remember the Greek myth about Pandora's box. After all the bad stuff arose and spread out and the woman crept back to the box, she found one little timid spirit cowering ... Hope.

Both.

Dramatic, for everything you know in life is wrong and you essentially begin a new a an infant.

Liberating because now there are no limits to knowledge except for your own death. and because nothing follows your death, life becomes ever more increasingly valuable with everyday that passes. Your decisions become stronger and more discerning. Your love more passionate. Surprisingly your morales improve and you become humanitarian to most of those you deal with. You begin to see life as it truly is instead of the story you are "supposed" to view through, making you more excepting of others and yourself.

If you believed the world was flat, then the truth was shown to you, I think you would feel loss, having held that belief for so long. But after a while, you would realize that the truth shines on the shadows of superstition and unfounded beliefs and feel liberated. Hooray!

Dramatically liberating.

I am no longer limited by faith. Reason is my absolute and through it I can achieve my dreams.

"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute."
