falbala is right, cannibal holocaust was banned, along with cannibal ferox,zombie flesh eaters, driller killer, I spit on your grave, nightmares in a damaged brain,shogun assassin, the new york ripper,and countless others.. but the british board of film classification (bbfc) has relaxed it's censorship lately and many of these are now available in any video store or retailer

One notorious case would be The Cannibal Holocaust - not sure it was banned, but at least severely criticized for its crude violence and real-life torture of animals (dismemberment of a turtle, notably).
