I absolutley love acting. Although I haven't acted in much other than in movies made by my friends and I, people say I'm good at it. I'm still very young, only 14 years old, and am starting high school this year. I'm serious about this, this is what I want to do. I understand that rejection is likely, but I will keep at it even if I am rejected. I live in a small town in a state (Alaska to be exact), that isn't as wide open as other places in the U.S. to have good oppurtunity in acting. I understand that I will have work to very hard, and that's what I'm planning on doing, but I would like to know how to start an acting career and how to build up from there. Any help is appreciated.

Are you interested in a career in film acting, or stage acting? They're pretty different, and you have to have a different set of skills for both of them. Although some of the skills are translatable, it's good to know if you're more interested in one than the other.
Go ahead and e-mail me and I'll see if I can help you out.
I'm 17 and also love acting tremendously. I live in Texas, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to help, but I'll try! I've mostly done onstage plays.

Take acting classes. Alaska, what a lovely state, I was there, a few years ago, to visit a friend, what a lovely part of the USA.

Call the colleges and universities and ask to speak to someone in the Theater Department.

Ask that person to recommend an acting School, or, an acting teacher.

Good Luck.

look for a good acting school, in your area, or go to n.y. to actors studio! don´t be afraid to try out working in a play , but be carefull with bad directors!

i wish someone would of told me this at your age i´m a director;)
