I think the answer is yes.

Future technologies will very likely make terra-forming of other planets practical and perhaps even simple. Thousands of years from now -if the human race survives that long -it is probable that space-craft will be sent to nearby moons and planets and to other neighboring stars to transform worlds into Earth-like environments using robots that would build automated factories to replicate themselves and then use bio-technologies to change the ecology of those worlds.

A greater concern to me is whether humanity as we know it can survive the dangers that technology brings:
Privacy for example; the right to think and feel what you want without interference from the State or social peers, is fundamental to what makes us human and technologies may come into existence that will make it very easy to monitor the behavior and intended behavior of every individual person in an entire society. Can you imagine living in a world where robotic cameras possessing artificial intelligence were embedded in every object, every tree and bush - even in the food you ate - and reported back to a central computer to inform of any "undesirable" behavior or signs of disobedience?

I don't think there will ever be a technology that could read people's minds and record thoughts - if that happened humanity would be utterly lost - but the ability to monitor physical activity and micro-manage individual people in their private lives is a very real possibility.

There would also be issues of gender; changing sex would be easy: what happens when your husband or boyfriend decides to becomes a woman for a few years? Or what if that cute guy you've got the hots for is only male on the weekends? It's not something that would destroy humanity like a lack of privacy would, but it would be a different kind of human race to the one we know today.

The real question perhaps is whether we can survive our own survival.

Unfortunately at the moment Earth is our only livable home and if God forbid something sudden should happen where we had to evacuate Earth, there is not other place that we can survive in. The closest place that is MAYBE possible to survive on is 50 light years away (super earth) it is called. That was a good question :-)

Note to Frozen Cloud: You are sick in the head, but you did get a chuckle out of me however. lol

Dropping a nuke on Mars inside its Grand Canyon type area would stir up lava which would make a dusty smoke cloud covering, warming the planet thus melt its ice. Seeds from earth should be dropped soon after this process. They should easily grow because of its high CO2 levels. I think this should be started right away because it will take some time to create a breathable atmosphere like Earth's.

At the moment, no, human survival ould not be possible. Eventually there will be the science needed to start habitats in hollowed out asteroids or to teraform other planets. We still have a while till we screw this planet up that badly so we have time to research th apropriate technology.

only if the human race has found a way to build spaceships and are looking for a new world that is similar to earth. other wise the human race will be history.

No.

It is pretty much inconceivable that it will ever be possible to reach an alternative or make it habitable. If it were already habitable it would already be inhabited and killing of the natives to take their planet would be unthinkably evil.

The problem is the stars are so far away.
