I am an American.
I do not classify myself as white or black.
These are labels that other people use to create division, misunderstanding, envy, jealously and fear.
I deeply admire mankind, and have found that there are people from every culture who enrich our society; sadly, the converse can be true, as well.
I am fortunate to work in a field where I meet people of both genders, and many cultural backgrounds. Intelligence, and willingness to learn, and to work and respect others, I believe, comes from the way a person is raised by their family.
I have seen and heard people do awful things to each other, using the color card.
Ignorance and intolerance are neither black not white. Lables are for those among us who are uneducated.

As a white american, from the South, I have some good black friends who I trust a lot. But my overall view of them is that most black americans do not respect the sanctity of marriage. I see black moms with multiple kids who have different dads. A lot of them blame whites for everything wrong in their lives, and do not look at themselves as the problem. Some are all about showboating. And I wish someone could prove me wrong, because I am not a racist and I can get along with anyone who shows me respect. I also want to add that there are plenty of sorry white folks out there too.

My father was in the Military so I met an incredible amount of people. I liked them all. Race IS inconsequential.
However, the one thing I will say is...I am white and I really hate it when I am called a racist just because I am white. My actions are not even remotely racist, but it is assumed that because I am white I am a hater. I say judge people on who THEY are not what color they are. And never assume someone is a racist just because they are a different race than you.

I don't really view any one in any way, until after I have met and known them for a while. Too many times have I met someone(no race in general), and made an assumption about them. I guess after 30 years I've realized first impressions don't mean anything. For all we know, the bum you see on the corner could actually be a businessman on his day off just chilling out for the day or possible even God disguised as bum, to see how we react to him.

thats a tough question. Some people choose not to seperate the race and only view the behaviors of that individual no matter what their race is. And others view the actions of one individual as being the norm for the entire race.

well, im a mixed person(half black and half white) so i guess i get along with both races equally. basically i only trip if someone attempts to make fun(wow what a dumb phrase...) or is racist towards me for listening to half of my playlist which is mainly metal, punk, screamo, and just average rock or if i use big words(because apparently blacks arent supposed to have high grades en english or not use ebonics) but my friends are an equal mix of both races and we have similar intrests so its all good...sorry if that didnt make sense...i need to sleep

see that first answer tells you how whites feel about us blacks, they have to remind themselves we are people, so now how do blacks feel about you, well in general our race dont trust whites, they lie to everyone to get over, but you have to ask an individual how they personally feel about whites, I for myself dont care to hate anyone that isnt an a*ss, I like anyone whom I can understand, but hate them for the past in america, no, just wont go on again if I can help it. We need to bury all this ignorance, in all races, to other races and within our own to live happy, so who is right thats what we humans need to break down.

I am black and from the south. It is not important how one ethnic sees the other. What is important is how do you view yourself? People are people regardless of their hue or the language which they speak.
Next question!
