No one ever truely wins in a war.

Problem now is that all this war did was set the terrorists back, but they are back on the rise. They are regrouping just as strong as they were before. Bush is running in circles. This is a war that can't be won. Bring home the troops and lets end this.

Many years ago Nikita Khruschchev visited the USA and declared that "we will bury you." He meant that the Soviet Union would bury the US economically. I do think that the terrorists are winning from this perspective. Hundreds of billions of dollars wasted in Iraq, just to provide a training ground for future terrorists, and a jihad site. I wonder what would happen if another country seemed to be a terrorist haven. Would we invade it too? National bankruptcy would probably ensue.

The answer as to whether or not "terrorists" are winning the "war", depends entirely on whether you are afraid, or feel terrorized.

I'm not, but I know plenty of people who are, and don't want to travel to major cities, fly, or even go to large gatherings (concerts etc....)

As for Bush, he couldn't win a game game of Candyland against my 3 yr old, with 25 advisors supplying strategies.

sure we are combating the terrorists interior Iraw, no longer Iraqis, yet as quickly as we toppled Sadam's government we fairly placed a doormat on Iraq for terrorists to return in. They weren't there initially, now we created a breeding floor for them. shop up the solid paintings Georgie Boy

Tricky

Think it's a false dichotomy -- it's not one or the other.

It depends on how you define 'winning'

if winning is based on $$$ spent -- THEN the terrorists are winning because they have spent less money.

If winning is based on lives taken... THEN the US is winning because we have taken far more Extremists lives then they have of ours.

If winning is based on aquiring resources -- THEN the US has not won because we have not gained any resources as a result of the war.

If winning is based on accomplishing a set goal -- THEN neither side has won, because neither side has reached their goal. Extremists have not driven us out of the Middle East NOR have they changed our polictical and socio-economic way of life, BUT neither have we changed their way of thinking or stopped terrorism.
