Have you noticed how many people will quite willingly queue at the pumps even though there is a free one just because their petrol cap is on the same side? What is the matter with these people? lol

It's not actually that difficult, all you have to do is pull your car forward a tiny bit more so you don't have to pull the nozzle out too far! Most of them are long enough for that - it's not rocket science! lol

SnoddersB, I'm not worried and I do use the pump while they are all waiting - I just don't understand why they all queue up when they don't have to!!

I noticed that too, because i am to impatient to queue i always to to another pump.
On the up side that means there is normally a pump free when I fill up!

Nothing, we just prefer not to risk slopping petrol all over ourselves while trying to manoeuvre the nozzle round the car, or indeed trying it, and finding the pump line is not long enough to use the nozzle normally..... and all for the sake of a few extra minutes wait. However, as my car has the cap on the opposite side to most cars (passenger side) it's very rarely an issue for me....

They probably can't judge the correct distance to pump, so need the full length of the pipe.

It always makes me laugh though - I'm in and gone before they even get to the pump, thankfully my car is small enough that the pipe is always long enough.

I'm glad they do that- it leaves space for me to nip in and get my petrol (even though I have to walk a LONG way round to the other side of my car (lazy gits)

Why worry, you can use the pump if no one else is using it.

its just easier using the pump nearest to your petrol cap..saves pulling the hose across the top of your car..anythng for an easy life i say!
