A very common way to handle this is to have one modem, then hook it up to a Cable/DSL Router. You'll need interent via your cable or phone company (cable is easier).

A typical router is the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router. This allows you to plug in up to 4 pc's, and also allows you to connect with wireless pc's, like laptops, all at the same time!

About $50 at Amazon or your fav computer store. Here's the link for Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WRT54G-Wireless-G-Router/dp/B00007KDVI/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-7580236-9417238?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1184485802&sr=8-1 just so you can see what it looks like.

It's super easy to set up.

As others have said, you can set up a home network. Linuxiac raises some very valid points that you should be aware of. Many youngsters will want to have their own connection so they can peruse porn sites, or download illicit material (both pirated software/music and 'naughty' pictures). Don't forget though, that young boys can be 'sucked in' by people whose intentions are not honorable. Make sure you know who your children are talking to, and warn them about not giving out personal information about themselves, where they live, what school they attend, etc.

Typically this is EXACTLY why people get:
Broad band - DSL or Cable high speed internet
AND
Set up a LAN at home, whether wired or wireless.

Once you have that done you would be able to access the Internet from multiple systems simultaneously.
