We have been married for 7 yrs for which he has never been responsible at all. He is controlled by his OCD. e have a family business so he has never made the effort to earn his living. Since I have been very understanding I feel he has taken advantage of me ....now that I have a child I an scared that my baby will get effected. I am sick and tired of his promises to try and never do it. We have been to counselling(OCD) but he hasnt tried hard enough. I find it hard to live with him and to leave him. I am confused PLEASE HELP!!!

You vowed for better or for worse. I guess the question here is did you take your vows seriously. He has an illness and this illness can be very controlling of his life... period. Unless you have been there you can't understand the effect it truly has. I guess you should ask yourself the question... if the roles were reversed and you were the one with OCD would you want your husband to leave you or stand by you.

I dont know to much of the OCD you seem really angry which you have every right to be . I have read everything you wrote but i dont see anything about you not loving him. The simple thing i would do before just throwing in the towel is put that scare into him tell him you want to seperate because you need to think about the relationship and find out where you want to go with it do to the fact that he has not did a thing to help resolve the issues in the marriage and if that does not bring him around then get a divorce

Any chance meds might help him? If you've gone to counsling for his OCD, maybe you also need marital counseling on top of that. It's worth it for your son. Just keep him in mind. It's not right that your husband feels he can get a free ride, but he'll only get away with as much as you'll let him. Find a way to get through it at any cost!

Hello! I can totally understand! I was married to my ex for 6 years and he has Obssesive Compulsive Disorder. He also was never able to take responsibility as far as getting work is concerned. It was just easier for him to live off my job. He also let his OCD control his life. i am a 13 year old boy and i have divorced parents, i suggest u do it quick so that he doesn't know whats happening. i have no feeling watsover for my father since he never took care of me and i like living with my mother. so do it quick and make him used to being around without a father. it worked for me hopes it works for ur child

I would try a psychiatrist and medication for him first. If after that marriage councelling doesn't help then I would separate.
