Fill your tub up half way with hot water & add a cup of bleach & a 1/2 cup of some nice smelling all purpose cleaner like Mr. Clean or Pine-Sol. Let the blinds sit in there for a few minutes & dunk them in & out a few times. Then use a cloth or towel to clean each blind. If there's any serious gunk, use a toothbrush to get it off. Rinse. Then to dry just lay them on some towels for a few hours or maybe overnight. If you can, let them dry in the sun, it really brightens white & dries them faster. Hope this helps!

If they are really dirty and dingy, I would definitely take them down and put them in your tub with some hot water. I've done this before with really nasty blinds that were left in a home we purchased. You can try different cleaning solutions--even bleach if the little strings are dirty. Let them soak. I have even taken a scrub brush or a rag and wiped off some of the blinds that were really nasty (like the ones that are always exposed). Let the water run out of the tub and run the shower over the blinds while you pick them up to get all excess cleaning solution off. Draw up the string and wrap blinds in a towel. Take them ouside and lay them on the grass (maybe even sit it on the towel if you want to make sure it doesn't get dirty from the ground). Get a buddy to help you expand the blinds all the way out and let them air dry. You may even want to dab the top of the blinds and maybe turn them over during the drying. They should turn out many shades whiter!! :)

"I Can" Honestly if they are really dirty with a sticky brownish film, such as cooking Oils and if anyone smokes in your home, this will leave a Nasty residue on your Blinds and walls, ect, I have found it Easier to just go to Walmart and Purchase new Mini Vinyl Blinds for $3.88/each. I just replaced mine in my Kitchen and yes we do smoke in there and the Blinds were so nasty and sticky and stained it was just not worth the time and effort. I recently Purchased an "Room Ionizer that removes the Smoke and other harmfull things in the air and its been worth its weight in Gold.

Easy way to clean blinds.
Take them down and put them in your bathtub. Fill with enough water to completely cover the blinds. Add 1 cup of bleach.
Let them soak for 1 hour, longer if needed.
Drain the water. Turn on the shower to rinse them off. Hang them up in the shower to drip dry. Rehang in window.
Done.

I used to be an apartment manager...we had to clean blinds between tenants...the best way is to take them down and put them in the bath tub...spray them with a glass cleaner (it doesn't have to be perfect) let it sit for a couple minutes and then turn on the shower with hot water. blot them dry with towel...they will be like brand new!

I use dish soap, warm water, and about 2 capfuls of bleach. Take them down and soak in the tub for about an hour, then take them outside to dry in the sun.

LOL don't even bother taking them down. Get a pair of cotton gloves, wash your hands with them on, run along a couple of slats of the blind, back into water, keep doing that.
