Are you talking about those little glass oil containers with colored water that goes through a little obsticle to get to the bottom? I know what you are talking still researching what it is. Still can't find it. My mom use to have one and I just e-mailed her to see if she knows what it is. I will get you back or e-mail you through your profile. I am sorry that I can't find exactly what it is or where you can find one.

I'd say being that the two liquids don't mix one is water based and the other is spirit/oil based. Also if its like the little mini ones you might get in a christmas craker i'd say the ingredients would have to be cheap. My guess vegetable oil and water both with some kind of colouring, you could try tumeric (bright yellow) in the oil and some water based food colouring in the water.
