I'm going into a new school and I need to make a good first impression with the drama teacher there. Shakespeare team tryouts are approaching and I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions on a unique shakespearian female monologue that I could try out with.

Excellent and difficult.

Have you checked the drama section of your local library?

Maybe they have books of monologues for auditions there?

Have you kept your school texts of Shakespeare plays you have studied?

You really should read the whole play so you understand the context of the speech you're doing!

Try reading Shakespeare. Always impresses the judges. As an alternate strategy, you could try reading something other than Shakespeare.

I would go for Lady Macbeth's soliloquy about the blood she can't wash away from her hands, hesitate, walk off stage delivering a blood curdling screm which will indicate your suicidal demise.

Some good ones for Portia in the Merchant of Venice.

Well, it isn't unique, but how about Lady MacBeth's soliloquy?
