The biggest difference is the button layout. The send button, camera button, and end button have all been moved to the bottom half of the phone. That's a really good idea. I had several people that were unable to use their phones when the touch pad stopped working.

The other difference is the navigation wheel. Instead of having touch sensitive buttons on the top to navigate the menu, it's an actual wheel. You'll spin the wheel to navigate the menu in a similar fashion to navigation on an iPod. There is also a button in the middle of the navigation wheel instead of the touch pad.

The phone had it's corners rounded out which looks much better. The new Chocolate looks a lot smaller, but it's actually about the same size. It's pretty amazing what a big difference rounded corner have on this phone.

The colors and menu styles are also different.

First of all there are many key changes to the new chocolate. The new chocolate has a vibration sensor so when you touch the front surface you will notice a vibration feeling knowing you touch and there is a action. Even the wheel in the middle is metallic givng you a more smoother control when you use it to scroll through the menu. The old chocolate had problems with the touch sensors. Sometimes the menu would scroll to fast due to the sensitivity of your touch.

Another addition is the headset piece. On the old chocolate this is no plug in for the wired headset. The new chocolate has a small hole on the side so you can input a wire headset especially when you are driving for safety concerns. This new chocolate also has bluetooth capability like the old phone as well.

There is also a change in the end key and talk key. It used to be on the side of phone when you hang up a call. Now it in the new chocolate phone it is located on the keypad inside as well as the camera key.

The micro SD can store and use up to 4 GB on the new chocolate phone but on the old chocolate phone it uses or stores up to 2 GB only.
