Or is it an absolute lie that came from one of michael moores deciets?

"He and others in the film state that 142 Saudis, including 24 members of the bin Laden family, were allowed to leave the country AFTER Sept. 13.

The date—Sept. 13—is crucial because that is when a national ban on air traffic, for security purposes, was eased
But nonetheless, many viewers will leave the movie theater with the impression that the Saudis, thanks to special treatment from the White House, were permitted to fly away when all other planes were still grounded. This false impression is created by Moore’s failure, when mentioning Sept. 13, to emphasize that the ban on flights had been eased by then. The false impression is further pushed when Moore shows the singer Ricky Martin walking around an airport and says, "Not even Ricky Martin would fly. But really, who wanted to fly? No one. Except the bin Ladens."

But the movie fails to mention that the FBI interviewed about 30 of the Saudis before they left. And the independent 9/11 commission has reported that "each of the flights we have studied was investigated by the FBI and dealt with in a professional manner prior to its departure."

Well thats just like in the movie, moore gets all over one senator for saying there was a 1-800 number to report patriot act abuses.

Moore basicly calls him a liar and leaves the impression there was no number to call.

It was a 1-888 toll free number,

Moore knew this before he made the movie.

So you have to ask, why include that footage, if he knew there was a toll free number to call, to report abuses of the patriot act.

Just because Michael Moore said it, doesn't mean it is not true. Many people knew about this before Michael Moore said it.

Since that small truth seems unbelievable, you choose to call it a lie and not believe it? How incredibly ignorant.

It was reported in the news.

Edit:

Also, I would like to add that it was on private jets. It was either Fox News or CNN or both that reported it because those were the only two news stations I watched at the time.

Yes, millions of people believe what Michael Moore says. Just check the box office stats and book sales.

A few years ago Vanity Fair published an extensive well documented article on the Saudi departure from the USA.

I think the point of the message in the film is that the Bin Laden's did get special treatment. Flight restrictions persisted past 9/13 and longer for private aircraft.

Bush may have had valid reasons for allowing the Bin Ladens to leave. Certainly, I'm not privy to the reasons for his actions.

But the truth remains that they were flown out of this country.

So let me propose a hypothetical to you, if Hitler had family, not really related, second cousins, or a half brother, would it be fair for those people to be persecuted solely because of their name? Absolutely not. The Bin-Ladens are related to Osama through name and distant family lineage, he is the black sheep. Oh, by the way, Hitler does have relatives, they live in the united states.
While I don't agree with what Micheal Moore has to say alot of the time, and I think he regularly takes things out of context and spins what he doesn't, but i respect him for having the balls to say it. We need a hundred more Moores. Take back the liberal Media.

Yes this is well known and Not in dispute.

Something like 2 dozen saudis, some of whom as it turns out were relatives(extended) of Bin Laden, were jetted away from the USA in the immediate aftermath of 9/11

Wow. This is so old. So we questioned them, found nothing and let them go.
So we make his family responsible for his actions?
So I guess you think we should expand Gitmo, because we need to imprison the relatives of the terrorists.
This is way old news and very weak.
