yes..........no............ I ask who cares? I think its great, why do I think this way? because the "my motherland" can go bite on my left and right one and america is much better in comparison. you can hate it with out being shot, you can march in the streets with out fear of retribution. the war of political words is only words. when a flag is burned it only protects the freedom it protects. it is a nation of many people and many opinions hell we dont even have a national language. so is it the best for me yes, for everyone no.

But America is a great land. Unfortunately though it has taken several turns for the worse in recent years. Under Bush many of those freedoms you talked about have been lost. Today, any citizen can be jailed with no trial or cause. The president can declare marshal law for ANY reason. Military spending is approaching $600 billion annually. Understandable if there was a real threat to America but there are none. With soldiers stationed in over 100 countries and a costly war being waged (and lost) in Iraq, the USA is not the in the best shape.
If America wants to get back on track, it must stop its policing of the world, significantly cut back its military spending, reform its social security pension system and erase Bush's patriot act.

America does have a lot of good things about it. If you ask around. you'll notice that mostly foreigners are the people who talk the Highest about this country. The people who where born and raised here will down it. That is mainly because they are use to the freedoms we still have here and have never had to put up with dictators and the like. So..yes..you are right.

You have just stated reasons why so many in power hate the USA. Why those that live here are so consumed with themselve s that they forget. So spoiled that they cannot understand. Many peoples have made this land what it is. Many have given up everything to come here because of the chance... the chance to be more than they otherwise could be. They did not come here to create the same society that they came from. They came for freedom.

I would want to live no other place, but democracy was "invented" by France, and France has more natural beauty, and Italy has more man-made wonders, than we do, even without comparing relatively.
THE MOTHERLAND? What are you even talking about? That'd be Africa by most accounts, not Europe, which I think you mean to demean.
