Notice that the person who keeps throwing around this outlandish "statistic" hasn't posted his source. I wonder why.
I don't place any faith in stats that are not followed by *reputable* sources. I also don't place any stock in ridiculous statements made by bitter trolls who have nothing better to do.

You fail to understand.
It is not 85% that marry with the intention of divorcing and taking everything, it is that (up to) 85% (sources vary slightly) of divorces are filed by women over the objection of their husbands because they find that marriage is more work and more difficult than they thought. Taking over half the proceeds of the marriage is just a perk.
If men and women were treated exactly the same in divorce, those seeking divorce would be 1) far fewer in number; 2) equal numbers of men and women.
This is not to say that some women are not, in fact, gold diggers who marry for money. Almost all women marry someone in much better financial condition than they themselves are with the knowledge that if a divorce occurs, they will take most of it with them through the obvious anti-male courtroom bias in property settlement, child support and/or alimony.
In "These Boots are Made for Walking: Why Wives File for Divorce", noted below, the authors found that "who gets the children is by far the most important component in deciding who files for divorce, particularly when there is very little quarrel about property, as when the separation is long."

Hahaha what the hell? Not sure how I would be considered lazy when I have a Mater's in Business and Finance and work almost 60 hours a week. I'm contributing to the economy just fine, shoot I could probably support your bottom feeding family and my own and still have more than enough money to do whatever the f*ck I want to in my spare time. You must work minimum wage at Pizza Hut or something, because if you were wealthy you wouldn't care about having a lazy wife at home to support. You're just mad that you're too poor to keep a woman. lol Men get married because they want to and they can get a divorce if they want to. No woman is tying a man down making him marry her unless he is lacking a backbone. You spend too much time focusing on the negative side of women but you don't look any better by putting us down with your one-sided arguments. To me you sound like a big crybaby. Do you need a tissue? Or perhaps a shoulder to cry on? For the record I work because I want to not because I have to. I love my job and look forward to going to it everyday and I will retire from the same company when that time comes in about 20 years. I am happily married to a man who makes just as much as I do which is enough for me to quit my job and stay at home. But I choose to work because I LOVE MY JOB and I would never expect my husband to be the only one working in my family when I am capable of working too. Thank you

Where did this come from ...I don't personally know anyone who would do that . I mean really, it's way too much trouble! Even though the guy is a millionaire, she would have to put up with him and then go through the divorce and hope that the court ruled in favor of her. I don't think this is true at all. Maybe point eighty five percent . But certainly not 85%

Chinese womens are doing exactly this... When they reach 20, they find a man to marry, make a child and at 30 they divorce, take the house and the child and get 3 boyfriends in different cities, so they can be entertain and be sustained by many men at the same time, which make some of them free from working... It mainly happen because of their culture and the fact that they are not enough women for all men borned there, and also, Chinese peoples are the most greedy persons, in the whole world....

wow 85% is very high. thats over 3 billion couples. 3.5billion males and 3.5 billion females. if marriage was so high turn over rate, it should be on some governmental site. the thing about statistics is that its a useless mathematics. using a interview of 100 people and generalizing to the mass of population not taking into account cultures and beliefs. religion is one of the strongest way of keeping people married, and there over a billion christians so i dont who these idoits are. theres also a billion muslims and muslims arent big on divorce. the government does a cencus every few years. thats the most accurate thing we have at the moment. they are a better track of how things are going on than statasticians. theres no real use for it.

A few people on this forum like to make up statistics, so they can bash "all" women or bash "all" men. They rarely if ever provide a source, and if they do, it's often a fellow basher's personal blog. These people don't like facts to get in the way of their gender stereotypes or hatred.
I don't know of any females or males that want to go through the hassle of marrying someone, so they can later go through the hassle of divorcing them and trying to get their money. I have had quite a few men tell me they didn't want to get a divorce since they didn't want to have to pay child support for their second round of kids. But hopefully, they are a minority.

Where did you get that statistics from? Freeloader.com? hahahahahahaha. I don't know any women who do that either. Some women do that but I don't think that it is as high as or even as close to 85%. If 85% women actually do that then there wouldn't be as many marriages. Unless the men have lost a lot of brain cells, which I really doubt it.

Whilst what you said was noble, the sad truth is that the majority of women (yes, the 85%) marry for the same reason they would divorce: money. Also, women want a man to commit, but their commitment to him only extends to him serving her needs.
It's no surprise, since your average woman is selfish and self-centred, with their born sense of entitlement- buy me, take me, give me - and privilege. If any of you guys doubt this, you haven't been dating much.
