do you believe that the housework should be 50/50???? here's what i think!!!if the wife has to go to work because of financial strain,or because her husband suggests it, i think they should share the load!!! because this was not ultimately the woman's choice!!! now, if the woman gets bored at home,or wants to pursue her career, i'm not sure if she should be demanding equality in housework!!! especially if there are kids!!!

what are your opinions????

If both people work then the housework should be 50/50... no matter what the reason the spouse went into the work force. If only one spouse works then I say that it should be about 80/20 (give or take a few percentages) because it is the stay at home spouses job to maintain the house but the working spouse should still contribute and help out some.

Regaurdless of the reason for your wife going to work, it should be 50/50. Some women need to work to feel self worth. Its actually healthy for the marriage for her to persue something she feels proud of instead of staying home and feeling worthless. You should support your wife with whatever decision she makes and contribute to the relationship. You cant give her an altimatum, she is your equal. Consider how you would feel if she picked your occupation and told you that if choose something different then you are responsible for all the house work and taking care of the kids. In a way, you are telling her she has to be a stay at home mom/wife or else she is going to have to pay for her decision. You need to stand beside her, not in front of her.

I think that if you want a rule book answer that you are out of luck because there isn't a marriage rule book out there, then again who knows....there probably is a "Marriage Rule Book for Dummies." The point is, each couple is different and these are the kinds of things that you talk about and settle before you actually get married.
