Learn to drive a stick. Automatic transmissions lower mileage and power. Stay away from 4WD and AWD unless you live in a harsh climate. Avoid excessive accessories that will only break down and cost more to maintain the car. The only ones I would really miss are A/C and cruise control. Factory stereos are inferior to after market.
Honda, Toyota, and Scion make great entry models. Drive like you care enough to do a good job pf it. Most people dont take it as serious as they should. Pay attention to everything front and back and learn to anticipate.

What you want is a 1985 Mercury Topaz with the 2.0 liter engine. Power and performance with a luxurious interior. This was one of the best cars Ford has ever put out, you just can't beat it!!
