While I personally throw `em back I have no problem with anyone who keeps them for food. There's a certain amount of satisfaction to eating something you yourself caught or killed and you can almost understand what previous cultures went through and you become a little more appreciative of where your next meal's comin' from even if it's out of the McDonald's drive thru window.

Contrary to what our corporate consumer culture would have you believe the Indians didn't pile into Big Chief Mucky Muck's SUV and make a banzai run to super ultra mega extreme Wal-Mart for tofu dogs and microwave burritos. Back then you actually had to hunt your food out of the woods, grow it out of the dirt or fish it out of the water. If you failed you weren't long for this world.

So no, I don't think that if you catch a fish you shouldn't eat it. In fact I believe that thats the way that everyone should get thier fish they eat.
