Yes. I loved this girl for years. Helped her out.. Loved her kids like my own. Was always there for her. Gave her a place to live if she needed it. It was hard for me to do. But I finally realized one day that it just wasn't worth it. I've been her friend for 7 years. 4 of those years I was head over heals about her. I helped her through 2 marriages and countless low life boy friends. I still love her kids like my own. He calls me Uncle and her daughter always runs up to me and yells my name then leaps on me like a little grasshopper. I still take them places. They both like me better than they do there dad (when they have one). I given up on that. Trying to get with her that is. I'm now just a friend. I don't look at her the same way as I did before. After all the times I've helped her out..or had to listen to her complain. I finally realized that It probably wouldn't work out between us. But we still call each other brother and sister. We are still close. I just don't want her like that anymore. But I still love her kids like they are my own. that I can never get ride of.

yes. It sucks because you know that you have so much to give to that person and find it hard to believe that someone else's love can at all measure up to the love you are giving. I don't understand it, but thats the way it is I guess.

In real life or like celebrities? I've had some pretty wicked crushes but only really ever loved one person (aside from family) and I am married to him :-)

Sure! I think everyone has to go through that a time or two. Call it a right of passage.
