I own snakes, and can't exactly recall the BAG price, but certainly with access to the WWW, all you need do is a general search using your browser and keywords.
PetSmart
Pet Supermarket
PetCo
Etc.
Any Dealer selling reptiles
Possibly even Home improvement stores?
The cost isn't at all prohibitive, but caution should be exercised in the quality/cleanliness/size (grade) of the chips/shavings.
Consider that Cedar chips are used for a variety of caged/kept animals, most with 4 feet. That equates to a snake having to crawl/slither through whatever medium you choose, and possible abrasions to their skin.
I base my aquariums with a piece of GOOD indoor outdoor carpet, use minimal amount of chips (FINE) and offer variations in temp areas of the enclosure, Cool off rock, a cave, anyhing the snake can climb around on, even a paper towel tube.
Most importantly though; is how often you clean the animals environment. Again remember that the snake doesn't step tenderly over any defication, but usually avoids the area. If the containment isn't clean it offers less "floor" area for the snake to move about over.

I work at Wal*Mart and we sell it and a big bag only costs $5.00 plus tax. If you have a lumber yard near you , you might can get some from them.
