In it's early years when Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, all the greats were on it. That shark that went door to door trying to get people to open up so he could eat them was hilarious!

SNL was at it's high point when John Belushi, Dan Akroyd, Gilda Radner, Jane Curtain, etc were on. They were SO funny back in the day.

I think it was in in it's prime in the Chris Kattan, Will Ferrel era. either that or back in the early 90's with chris rock, david spade, chris farley and so forth. They're not doing that bad in this season but nothing really memorable has happened.
