You sound like you are ready to start forming new relationships. Might be hard to date after 14 years of marriage but once you had 1 or 2 dates you will be fine, so be brave and go for it.
Also someone suggested you get a dog or adopt a child with a bit of sarcasm but in all seriousness getting a cat wouldn't do any harm, a cat can be good company and general will scream for your attention. Mine sits on my lap all day long if I let it!
Anyway I really recommend you register with a dating agency online or something and start communication and I am sure you will be getting dates in no time.

Stop whining about it on Yahoo! Answers and try getting off the couch and getting out of the house to meet people. Not trying to hurt your feelings, but geez.
Go to church. Join an adult sports team. Coach Little League. Start working out at the gym. Take a cooking class at the community college. Go on a single's vacation tour group. Go back to college and get your degree. Learn to enjoy your OWN company.
Just please, take some action man!!!!

:-( aw fred. i understand at least a little how you feel. i was in a close knit relationship with a guy for over four years and now sometimes i feel so alone and empty.
i went on craigslist and found a social group for 20-something women in my county. i didn't get super close with the members, but now i always have people to do stuff with like go to the movies, dinner, bbq's, festivals, etc.
i also take an aerobics class three times a week, work long hours, and other stuff to keep myself busy. it felps the lonliness

Their are plenty of fish in the sea. Unfortunately they're not going to come knocking on your door. You have to make the effort to get out and find the person you want to be with. Good Luck!

You should try getting back into the dating game. After having a partner for so many years he/she became a part of your life and who you were. But meeting new friends can fill in that void.

You need a hobbie. something that will keep you busy and not focus on what you don't have. If you occupy your time with something else pretty soon you'll be like oh my where did the time go and never you might meet someone.

Yahoo! Answers isn't really a dating site. You can cruise over to http://www.craigslist.org and click on the city nearest you and look under 'women seeking men' to find that dream date.
Good luck! - Stuart

You don't have to take your ex back, there ARE others out there you know? If you don't like being alone, start going out and meeting people, start dating. No one has to be alone, unless they want to be.
