For most of the population, yes. Many people think of spiritual pursuits as something they will have time for after they get rich. And some feel that there is no difference, that if you have money you are automatically on a higher spiritual level. Just listen to some of the silly things people say in Hollywood.

In an obsessive capitalist nation such as this, money is spirit. Look at the similarities. It's not actually real, it's just symbolized by the paper it's printed on, like a holy book. The masses look up to, and worship, the prophets/profits. Losers are shunned, and winners are accepted. Financial growth IS spiritual growth here.
