I have a number of tall straight oak trees, (about 200 feet high) and straight as a arrow. Someone told me that furniture company's would remove the trees for the lumber. Anyone ever hear of this?

Not furniture companies, but loggers. See the link below for a discussion. Contact three different loggers for quotes (they pay you). If good quality wood, they could be worth thousands of dollars.

Your local county may have a forester on staff who can assist you with deciding which trees to sell. There may be regulations about the volume of timber and minimum size of tree that you can remove.

I have heard of something like this, but I don't think it was a furniture company. Keep checking!

Logger will cut them down for free but if I were you I would keep them. They are gorgeous trees.

I have heard of people that build log homes doing this but have no idea how to contact them.
