(mutations are usually not good, but once in a great while they are, and they are ultimately the source of improved genes)

10. D Mutation is essential if populations evolve over time.
Badly phrased question. Mutations come in 3 flavors; bad, good and neutral. The former being the greatest proportionately, by far.
