yes, my friends stripped me down on my wedding day and left me there for about two hours.

Beaches, nude or not, gather their own unique crowd. I've been to several near college towns where most were young adults, often with children. Some are mostly men, others are a more even mix. I don't know about the mix at the beaches in Australia, but try some others before you give up.

Have gone skinny dipping in the Gulf of Mexico many times. Sometimes at night or in a very secluded area. Many beaches are on federally owned land and there is no federal law governing public nudity. But Rangers, if they see you, will usually ask you to avoid clothed bathers or families, or to keep a towel handy should someone pass by.
In California, state law no longer views nude sunbathing as public indecency. Some local jurisdictions do have restrictions, but will only issue a small ticket (no arrest). California State Parks will only require clothing if a private citizen complains. Even then they will try to resolve the conflict in a mutually agreeable manner with arrest being used only as a last resort.

One time I was going to a beach that I thought was nude. It was a week day and while walking a bit I ran into a family out for a walk. They were very nice and one of the older gentleman told me I was at the wrong place, but since not many people were there he told me not to bother to move my things. Most people that went there did not care, as long as I did not cause any trouble.
I stayed for an couple of hours, got directions to the correct place, and said goodbye.
I do not mind being the only one naked but, if someone was upset about it I would have left right away.
I do not believe in forcing someone to my beliefs.

There's a beach that's outside the limits of the town I live in. We have a large lake and one side has a mile-long stretch of beach. It was a hot Tuesday in September and my boyfriend and I went out for some sun.
Now, I'm a show-off and my boyfriend likes to see my skin outdoors, and it was only so long before my top came off. The beach was really quiet. We could see a few people dotting the coastline, but it wasn't crowded or even halfway busy. We figured there weren't any kids around, since school was in, and I could get some sun on my chest.
After a few minutes, I started feeling turned on, and to tease my boyfriend, I slid my bottoms off, too. I enjoy being naked anyway, and the feeling of 'forbidden' really heightened the experience. We didn't see anyone and no one saw us, but it was incredibly sensual and very exciting.

Other than the occasional, dropped drawers (because the string came untied and I didn't know it) as I was getting out of the water, only once. We were swimming in Lake Michigan at Indiana Shores State Park. Now granted, it was late at night & I was with my girlfriend at the time, but it was good fun nonetheless. I'd like to add that we just saw the movie "Jaws," so it was a bit spooky too! Heck, I had my doubts about swimming in a pool at night after seeing that movie (and I was a lifeguard at the time) LOL!!! Dun dun, Dun dun, Dun dun, Dun dun ... get the idea?

No, it's against the law. There are designated nude bathing areas at certain beaches in the US. If you are interested, find out where they are.
