I watched one person take a shopping cart out of the lot and along the sidewalk once. Apparently she was going to push it home but a block or two from the store, a friend stopped her car and offered her a ride. She unloaded the cart, put the groceries in the car, and off they went. It was too hot the first day to leave the bus shelter (where I was) to fool with it but a couple days later was cooler so I walked down and got the cart so I could go shopping. Someone told me once that each cart costs the grocery $160 or more so imagine what that does to food prices.

They know but they don't care unfortunately. I saw the guy who lives behind my dad push a shopping cart from his house to the grocery store one time and back to his house again. I guess he keep the shopping cart.

Unfortunately, they are inconsiderate people who only look for their own convenience. Those carts are worth good money, by the way, and it's a shame that so many of them are damaged because they are taken far away.

Maybe they don't have a car, so they just walk the stuff home. Also people will steal them. I have heard of housekeeping people useing them to carry there supplies around in. I have even seen one person use carts to carry there garden supplies around in...
