Some people claim to know as early as 12 weeks, but I doubt the accuracy of ultrasounds that early, since all fetuses start off with a genital tuber (which basically looks like a nub, or a small penis) and the difference isn't really clear until closer to 16-20 weeks. Check out this link for more info...it's very interesting!

Yes actually 13 weeks is the earliest but most doctors won't tell you until 15 weeks or more just to make sure nothing wants to "pop out" so to speak. They waited until i was 16 or 17 weeks.

I think they said 16 wks is the earliest they can guess. Unless they can get a clear shot between the legs though it is just a guess. I was told girls for both and had boys. That was at 6 months.

They can tell you as early as 12 weeks, but it is not as accurate as it would be at 16 weeks. If the baby is a boy, they can usually tell pretty early with about 90% accuracy.

I was told at 17.5 weeks that I was having a boy. That was the earliest that I have ever been told. I am not sure what the earliest is though.

13 weeks is stretching it, it would wait until the next ultrasound. we learned we were havign aboy at 15 weeks, but a penis is easier to see than a vagina.
