You are totally overreacting to a tiny little group of ultra liberals who do those things. Don't let your thinking be driven by extremists.. it a little obsessive.

Well, first thing "Dr." is that you don't fully understand fascism. And your chaotic rant is hardly like that I would expect from a person with an education.
In goose-stepping fascist Germany Sheeham probably would be shot. But Nazi Germany was just one extreme example of fascism. But fascism can be much more subtle.
Fascism is essentially the takover of the state by corporations. This is exactly what has happened in the United States. The main qualification for getting into the Whte House is to either be a millionaire, or have the ability to to raise enormous campaign funds via wealthy donors; donors who run the largest corporations. Those who make it into power are then beholden to the money brokers who put them in power.
The Bush administration is the most extreme example. But the Democrats are no different. Both parties represent the same monied interests. That Obama guy is leading the pack with the largest amount of donations so far, leading Clinton by many millions.
Civil and democratic rights have been severely eroded under the Bush administration. America has become much less "free" and much more like a police state.
So Sheeham is correct. The US is no longer a democracy representing the will of the people. It has become a fascist, criminal enterprise

There is a difference between saying that things can be better, and saying that things are better here than somewhere else so now our s*!t don't stink. I'm not sure that I really agree with your premise however. We had a system of institutionalized racism in this country only 50 years ago. I know what you are trying to say, but we still had segregated schools in the 60's. This country has been unique in the amount of immigration to this country, and racism shows it's face particularly when the economy gets bad.

Right on my brother! Yes we white people use that term too! Are we allowed! Hehe! Anyway you got it all right on target and I would just say in addition to all of your true facts that Liberals blindly pretend are not there, take a walk in a black neighborhood anytime of day and take a video cam like on your hat and Liberals will be forced to see where true racism is alive! It is in Black communities against Whites and Hispanics! But they already knew that they just blindly pretend they are not racist and also name one admitted killer that is white on death row that one black man has fought for his release! Umm were waiting! See whats I means! America is on to all the phonies so you go DR. and tell the real deal as you do! Love you and real America!

Fascism can have different definitions according to the country and culture it comes out of. But it's tendencies are extreme Nationalism, Corporate control of the government without regard to the population and it's election process (in other words the corporations have controlled who we vote for by paying them off). These corporations have not power to vote, but they control the entire election system by giving all the money to the elections. Therefore, they are the ones who control government. Welcome to the United States of the 21st century corporate fascism.
Capital punishment is a racist institution because more blacks are given the death sentence compared to whites who do the same crime. So you're saying the Rodney King incident isn't a racist issue? Look sweety, I know for a fact that the LAPD and the Sherrifs depart are very racist entities. I worked part time in the Sherriff's office and boy I could tell you stories about some of these law enforcement types. I suppose you go work or do some volunteer work in a large city like L.A and see for yourself. It actually goes way underreported than what you see on the t.v idiot box news.
Here's some good reading you should do on the subject:
http://www.pursuingholiness.com/2007/06/26/jena-6-update/
here's another one about a black teenager who was an honor's student:
http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2007/06/12/776915-teen-sex-case-in-limbo-for-3-more-weeks
You don't think there is institutionalized racism in this country? Try living in the deep south.
BTW, I've had friends who were driving in my neighborhood and pulled over only because they were driving while black. Please try to tell us all again that racism doesn't exist.
Ninja, are you really this naive? Of course liberal whites wouldn't go to impoverished black neighborhoods. We know how angry they are and desparate they are there. We aren't stupid.

Only white folks have the luxury of thinking that race doesn't enter into decisions made by employers, police, people on the street, store employees, etc. Of course it does! So now that we've established that, the question really is: how do you tell whether race was THE determining factor in a certain action or just a minor factor? It's very hard to know. So, people being different from each other, some will think race was a factor in an arrest and others won't. We will just have to agree to disagree. Please consider that those who have suffered in their own lives from racism and seen it first-hand are more likely than someone, perhaps like you, to perceive racism in public and private actions.
Secondly, there's a tendency among some people to be unsophisticated in their arguments. They take one person--let's say Cindy Sheehan--and apply a statement she made to an entire group of people who may or may not agree with her. Not a good way to argue for your position--too general.
And last, let's assume for the sake of argument that all Americans love their country. Some of us--generally more on the right--love America the way a child loves its mother; others of us--generally on the left--love America the way one adult loves another and therefore want it to be the best it can be, to live up to its stated principles and ideals. And we think if we identify certain places where our country is not living up to its ideals, that will help all of us work on improving things.

It's good to hear other voices of reason. That is one of the main reasons I hate liberalism and the left, and that's why I'll never vote for a democrat. Because they pander to all these nut job special interest groups and the people that support them. To them capitalism, corporations, christianity, and white people are all part of the evil, greedy imperialistic empire of fascist America. That robs from impoverished 3rd world nations to satiate it's greed, and sh-ts on it's poor people, because as you all know, we 'hate' poor people here!! Yet these lefty liberals have more freedoms than anyone from any other country, buy and use everything created by our capitalist system, and the saddest thing of it all, is a lot of these people are self hating WHITE CHRISTIANS racked with this guilt coming from this stigma that White Christian Americans and our traditions are immoral and based on racism!!!
To "dangerous", reverse that situation and take a white person to a heavily populated black neighborhood and watch them get heckled or even attacked. Blacks are more racist than any race, in fact they are 50 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white person, than a white is to commit a similar offense against a black person. Blacks are 11 times more likely than whites, to commit a violent crime in general. Hispanic are 3 times more likely than whites to do so. And Asians are 1/2 as likely to commit a violent crime than a white. FBI crime stats.
Liberals act as if only in America does racism exist. HELLO! It's happening everywhere in every country, against all colors and creeds!!!! It's human fricken nature and it'll never end people. By creating crap like affirmative action where a certain race group gets special treatment, you are only deepening the racial divide by creating more racism!!!! How can you people not see this...
Let the free market solve racism. Here's an example. You take a highly skilled black engineer, he applies for a job at company A, gets denied because he's black. So he goes down to their competitor company B and gets hired, and since our little black engineer is a genius, company B benefits due to his talent in engineering. Another example. Cafe A doesn't serve asians, but cafe B does, so look who benefits from the extra business, you guessed it cafe B. Isn't learning fun???

Actually, Sheehan was referring to the current Bush regime as being fascist. Not the country as envisioned by the Constitution.
It's hard to deny that racism and oppression exist. Just look at statistics. But you are right that the term is massively overused and applied in situations where race has nothing to do with it.
That being said, given that racism and racial discrimination still occur, shouldn't we continued to do everything we can to eliminate it?
