I would've rather had him in a Red Sox uniform and see Manny go to Texas in 2004...
And too everyone saying "well, after everything that has been said and done..."
Johnny Damon was the biggest jerk before 2006, it's funny how quickly my view of him changed that year and how embraced he is now.

Yes, I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan, but seeing A-Rod in a Sox uniform can be both good and bad.
He can be good to the Red Sox because not only does he provide a big bat and big power numbers, but he's also got speed. He's having a huge bounce-back season from last year when he had many, many errors and Homer's in the 30's.
But It's bad only from who we have. Mike Lowell is having an amazing season offensively, but not so much defensively, with almost double the errors he had last year. Still, he's been doing a lot better since he came from the Marlins with Josh Beckett. Not only do we have Mike Lowell at 3B, but also Kevin Youkilis and Julio Lugo (God forbid.) So the Sox definitely have enough people to play at 3B in case Mike Lowell signs somewhere else next year. And if we want to afford A-Rod we're going to have to change the contracts of some people and even get rid of a few people we love (Shill, Lowell.)
The only problem I have with A-Rod is all of the controversy he caused with the Red Sox. He's caused a lot of wins for the Yankees with Homer's against the Sox, and almost always gets boo'd when he comes to Fenway. He acted like a 4 year old in game 6 of the 2004 ALCS, and got into a fight with our Captain. Not only has he caused trouble with the Sox, but with other teams as well. From earlier this year, when he yelled something playing in Toronto. His off-the-field trouble is another thing about A-Rod that Fenway's Faithful wouldn't like.
All in all, seeing A-Rod as a Red Sox would be pretty good payback for the Yankees taking Damon. I won't like it at first, but if he wants to be on a team that wins, the Red Sox are his team.

I'm a Sox fan and I'm gonna say I'd HATE to A-ROD in a Red Sox uniform next season he or anyone else for that matter isn't worth 30 million I'd much rather see Miguel Cabrera in a Sox uniform in 2009 so Yanks you can keep that curse named A-ROD

The Red Sox would be smart to get him. He will probably break the home run record in 6 or 7 years. He's been hitting clutch homers this season. The Yankees should make every effort to keep him. They can easily afford the 30 million.

Actually, I wouldn't. Sure, he has great numbers, but I just can't picture him in a Sox uniform. It would look too awkward...It would be like....David Wells wearing a bikini.
Red Sox Nation (a very large portion) may want him here, but wouldn't we be hypocritical? How many times have you yelled "You suck!" when Rodriguez has come up to bat? How many jokes have you made that he and Jeter were dating? How many of his jersies did you burn after he tried to slap the ball out of Arroyo's glove? You just can't accept someone in a Boston uniform with a uniform like that.
I know the Red Sox front office doesn't care about anything but winning, so if A-Rod does come here, whatever. It doesn't mean I have to accept him, right? Like, I never accepted JD Drew or Julio Lugo (or Javy Lopez. Remember him?).

I'm not a Red Sox fans, but if Red Sox fans want him playing for their team, they they are a bunch of hypocrites. A-Rod took a lot of abuse last time he was there with the jeers, people wearing blonde masks, and yelling when pop-ups were hit to him. Also, Red Sox fans loved it when Coward Varitek, hiding behind his mask and catcher's gear, shoved his glove in A-Rod's face. It makes me sick to think that Red Sox fans would want him now after all the crap they've done to him. I guess everything would be A-OK if he went to them huh? Would YOU like to go to a city whose fans treat you like garbage?

Well, it would ruin tradition, but then again so many sox have joined the yankees. But, i suppose it would be a nice addition, all though we would probably end up with a bunch of mediocre players since a large chunk of change would be going towards him

I wouldn't mind it...I mean come on look at the numbers. He could never be my favorite player after that ball slap and A-Rod/V-Tek fight but I could deal with him if he produces like that!
I'm kind of hoping we get him and he wins a World Series here so we can shove it in the Yankees faces!!

Boy, I'll take him. He's the best hitter in baseball, and he's going to be really good for the next several years.
