What Makes Us Truly Human Is Our Flaws And Our Love For One Another (Espcially Family)

That what makes us truly human is that we are in our core spirit.
We only often forget that in the hassle and bustle of life on earth.

In times of deep pain, or profound joy we suddenly remember it again. It is the spirit which pushes us to search for more and lets us ask questions about the meaning of life and about what is above material things. It is spirit which lets us wish to fulfill something meaningful and profound. No animal asks ever for meaning. The spirit yearns to develop itself and to one day return from where it came from as a fully matured and conscious spirit. The spiritual realm. Our time here on earth is only a school, so to help us to awake and develop. Like a seed falls to the earth and only through the influences of sun, wind, rain and storm can grow into a strong tree, so is this also with ourselves. We need this experiences in the material world to awake and to come to terms what we are in our core.

At times if we truly love we have access to our spirit.

It is a pity that so many people laugh about the presence of the spirit in them. Pushing it down with intellectual reasoning, scientific explanations which want to convince us that we are just a more advanced computer surrounded with an animal body. Science has its place, sure. But spirit that what makes a human to a human cannot be explained with scientific means, it only can be "experienced". This is why each and every one of us, needs to find his or her own path to it and the possibilities to awake are indeed offered to each human being in abundance.

Spirit is capable of experiencing true beauty, and a spirit is capable of creativity. As spiritual beings we can make choices. Whereas animals merely respond to their drives, a human is able to listen to ones inner voice and follow it, even if it means to ignore the drive. No animal is capable of that.
No animal is able to grow above itself and its surroundings and to take a stand towards its fate. An animal not even asks this type of questions. Only humans do that.

what makes us human is our ability to choose... whether its right from wrong or to get the large double Carmel latte or just go for a small. Our ability to think this way separates us from the animals that have only life or death to pick from. Animals such as rabbits, cats, goats, etc. function on a mechanical sense. Our ability to choose stops the mechanical function and makes us who we are .... HUMANS

We dream, we reason, we communicate, we love.. yes, other animals may do the same, but our bodies and minds are more complex.. if that wasn't true why would we have special abilities in example to read and write and the gifts of wisdom, knowledge and faith? that is what seperates humans from animals..

what makes us truly human is our ability to reason out. Otherwise we have almost similar bodily functions as that of animals.

Genetics and evolution.

EDIT: in response to below...

How do you know that other animals cannot reason, dream, or choose? Have you ever been another animal? And do you remember it? (if the answer is yes, you need to seek psychiatric help).

You mean beside our DNA? I would say it is our failures and our ability to realize what we do wrong and be able to ask forgiveness and try to make amends.
