Unless you know what you're doing, I agree with the 2nd answer. Pay someone to do it.

Also realize if you're out or low, there is a leak somewhere. You might want to get that diagnosed as well.

a 2003 should use the r134a coolant in the system. It should say this on the system or on the front of the veh under the hood.. where it warns you about the airbags and shows you how the sepentine belts fit.
Its easy to do and will cost about $25. The instructions will be on the can and you get it from any auto parts store and even from wal mart . see the link below it shows the cans and how to do it. The aircondition can be topped up with these there is no need to "drain" the system. The cans contain refrigerant, oil and small leak sealant. I have used them and they work!!

The system must first be evacuated with a specialized machine, then the system can be recharged, this is a procedure best left for a shop to do, hope this helps.

Pay someone to do it...

You can't do it by yourself. Contents are under pressure, and can only be replaced once a vacuum has been placed on the system.

first off, r134a in only a liquid at high pressures, second off, you could not afford the tools required top do the service correctly, and you do not have the required ase certifications to perform such a task. please, do yourself a favor and leave it to the professionals.
