For what dating? These questions need some more information. Well here goes, For a 20 year old girl, 2 or 3 yrs either way. At that young age, you want someone having the same experience as yourself, if you go farther, there is a difference in experience. My brother is only 5 yrs older than me, and we grew up having totally different experiences, and we definitely have different opinions, and the culture of our time was different for me. If someone is too young, there is the immaturity factor to deal with, if they are older, they may have way more experience than you.

DEPENDS ON THE CHARACTER,MATURITY OF MIND AND HEART OF BOTH THE 20 YEAR OLD YOUNG WOMAN,AND THE MAN.
USUALLY I'D SAY 18 TO 62 THE REASON I USE THE 62 OR EVEN 50'S IS BECAUSE I KNOW MANY WHO FELL IN LOVE MARRIED AND ARE STILL MARRIED HAPPILY MANY YEARS LATER,BUT GENERALLY 18 TO 28 IS WHAT SOCIETY AT LARGE PUTS DOWN FOR SOMEONE OF THIS AGE.
THERE IS A MYTH THAT OLDER MEN 30'S 40'S 50'S CAN'T KEEP UP WITH THE YOUNGER PEOPLE EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY BUT THAT IS UP TO DEBATE AS WELL.
I MYSELF AM 53 AND CAN RUN RINGS AROUND MANY GUYS IN THEIR 20'S.
aLSO THE OLDER GUY IS GOING TO BE ESTABLISHED WITH ALL THE ALREADY PAID FOR TOYS AND THEN SOME I.E. HOUSES,CARS,ETCAND WELL SET-FEW WORRIES.
WHILE THOSE IN THEIR 20'S ARE -WELLLL EXPERIMENT YOU'LL SEE.

I think your biggest problem would be anyone younger than 18. But in my experience, anything older than 18 is up for grabs. When I was 18, I dated a 55 year old man. We dated a couple of times and he never expected anything from me. Sometimes, it takes guys many many years to grow up. Age doesn't matter when you find a guy that loves to have fun, that loves to laugh, can be very serious, supportive and mature and is really into you. Age is nothing - never let anyone tell you someone is too old. Good Luck!

For a 20 yr old girl, I wouldn't go above 25, would go below 19 1/2.
Anything younger than you will not be as mature, anything above 25 would be way too old and not able to keep up with you (physically and emotionally)

Maybe 40 - but it you were my daughter and you had someone older who treated you well and you loved each other that would be my main concern. When my daughter was 24 she dated a guy that was 42 (it wasn't a big deal) - on the too young part I'd stick with your age or older since in most cases at younger ages - girls act more more mature than guys!!

If the boy is below 18 that is too young.
If the guy has enough money he can never be too old.

You are only as old as you are mature and centered in your life and not moves according to some other's tune.
A five years old can be more sensible and intelligent if he is not corrupted than a 50 years old who is always overreacting in anger and compulsions without his common sense to guide him in everything he do.
Are you a 5 years old with your common sense intact or a 50 years old losts in your sensuality and hatred ?
Answer that question and you got your answer !
