I've written some things and I want an opinion from someone other than family, who only say positive things. I want some serious critique! Is there a website I can post it on, or some where I can write it and then link to a question on Yahoo! Answers? I'd write it here, but it's waaaay too long! thanks for the help!

oh ya, what I'm writing is like a SUPER descriptive account of rides at Disneyland, and the park itself.

thanks again!

Post the book on a secure website and invite the first ten respondents from this bulletin board to read and critique the book.

Be prepared to get scorched, but take the criticism with a grain of salt.

You might also contact your local newspaper or library and ask if the editor or librarian would have time to review the book. Don't feel bad if you get turned down, as their time is valuable. Ask if they know of anyone in your community that could do this for you. Not to sound condescending, buy you might try a nursing home near you.

To what audience is your book targeted? You might try asking this demographic for feedback.

Find other books like yours, contact the authors to find out if they are in a writing group or organization, then join that organization. Also ask them what they would suggest. It's best to be in a group writing the same genre to get good constructive critiques.

Submit it to an on line book club. Yahoo groups has several. I was part of the E.Lynn Harris group and several authors would send us chapters of their work for critiques. It's the best way and cheapest to get true critiques. Good Luck!

Join a writing group. That way, you get reviews from other writers. It helps to find a group of people writing in your area (not specifically, of course; you don't want to fine ten people writing the exact same book).

If you live near a collage. You might want to check to see if they have any professors there that can critique your writings. Also you might want to check your local book store. Maybe they can help you out to.

a lot of towns have a writer's groupthat meets on a regular basis. But you have to be willing to read their stuff as well.

Be ready, other writers can be brutal.

Sounds dull as dishwater. People go on vacations they don't read about them. Also Disney is very picky about someone using its name and images. You might get sued.
