**NOTE**
Please do not waste my time or any other readers with stupid answers like getting thrown out of a casino is free. I would prefer some serious answers from people who love to travel and have had a Vegas experience. Thank you.

Here are the few well-known ones:
Sirens of T.I.
circus acts at Circus Circus
flamingos at Flamingo, tigers and lions at the mirage
Fremont experience
Bellagio water show
Volcano at the mirage
Stratosphere hotel -- view of the strip from the top.

Now, the other free stuff...
At the forums shop at Caesars Palace, there is an robotic Atlantis show every hour (I believe). However, there also a free behind-the-scenes tour at 3:15 PM daily where you get to see fish tank and machinery of the Atlantis show.

Red Rock Canyon is about a few miles away from Las Vegas. There is a 13 mile one way drive through a beautiful landscape. Many places to hike and bike.

The Ethel M's Chocolate Factory tour. Free self-guided tour of the chocolate factory and garden in the surrounding area. Plus free samples! About 15 minutes from the Strip.

Some not free, but visit anyways...
Hoover Dam. Big dam, you can just walk on top of it for a nice view of the dam. And you can say you were directly on top of the Nevada-Arizona border.

Springs Preserve (newly opened in June) is a beautiful desert place, and there are couple exhibits describing the history and nature of Las Vegas.

That's 10 free, and 2 not free.

Fremont Street Experience

The Sirens of Ti is not the show that it used to be IMHO(when it was strictly a pirate battle)>still worth seeing though

The best value buffets are not on the strip.
The strip is for tourists that don't have transportation to get off the strip, and are a captive audience for the overpriced meals. Way overpriced IMO.

Locals eat off the strip.

Try the Orleans, Silverton and Main Street Station (Downtown) for great value buffets, AND you can get 2 for 1 coupons for the buffets by oredering a book called
AMERICAN CASINO GUIDE 2007 Edition. (Author Steve Bourie) Available on Amazon, eBay etc. Coupons good until Dec '07, also good for some shows and a few casino bets.

You need to go downtown and get the FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCEfun book coupons for a Main St 2 for 1
It's well worth the cost of the book if you are going to LV for 3 or 4 days or more. LOADS of great coupons in this book.

Silverton Lunch Buffet is $9.95 and 2 for 1 in the book, amazing meal for 2 for $10 !!
Others are $15 max, but 2 for1's are in the book.

You need a car to get off the strip for Silverton or Orleans, but you can take a bus downtown for Main Street Stn.

Th book is WELL worth the cost if you are there for a few days with a car. Have Fun !

I was just there a few days ago- these aren't free things- but, worth doing.

Louie Anderson - comedian is funny! we went there - at the excalibur..tickets about $50 each(I couldn't find deals on it)

Body exhibition is good - interesting - I found cheaper tickets at a 1/2 price booth- not that much cheaper - but, that ran about $21 a piece.

We went and ate at the nascar cafe - if you are a nascar fan - great food - and reasonably priced - we spent about $25 eating there.

my #1 thing to do: gamble at the Sahara casino- I won $800 on a machine!!

hoover dam is free(if you have a car) - that was pretty cool. 20 miles out of lv.
