The 10th digit of the VIN is the 'Model Year' digit.
Model year encoding
Besides the three letters that are not allowed in the VIN itself (I, O and Q), the letters U and Z and the digit 0 are not used for the year code. Note that the year code can be the calendar year in which a vehicle is built, or a model or type year allocated by the manufacturer. The year 1980 is encoded as "A", and subsequent years increment through the allowed letters, so that "Y" represents the year 2000. 2001 through 2009 are encoded as the digits 1 through 9, and subsequent years are encoded as "A", "B", "C", etc.
Code Year Code Year Code Year Code Year
A 1980 L 1990 Y 2000 A 2010
B 1981 M 1991 1 2001 B 2011
C 1982 N 1992 2 2002 C 2012
D 1983 P 1993 3 2003 D 2013

Yes. Look in the driver side door or position yourself on the outside of the driver side window, then look towards the dash in the corner and you should see a serial number. Many Mazda serial numbers start with JMZ. Write down the serial number and contact Mitsubishi's Customer Service or Warranty Department. Their maybe a serial plate on the inside of the door of your car that has the build date. It should be. I hope these options help you get matters straight.

there should be 2 locations on the car actually. first there should be a sticker on the inside door jam of the left front door. there also should be another sticker under the hood-- it's on the same sticker under the hood where it shows the engine size (it should say something along the lines of " this vehicle meets the emissions standards for all _____ year model vehicles.")

look closely at the back tail light lens- usually upper area
stamped onto every lens is the date- ( give or take a year )
the most obvious place to look for the year of the car is on the title
